Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has unveiled the next phase of the city’s ambitious 2040 Urban Master Plan. 20-Minute City: Convenience Redefined
A major highlight of the plan is the creation of a “20-minute city.” This concept allows residents to access 80% of their daily needs, such as schools, grocery stores, and entertainment venues, within 20 minutes by foot or bicycle. To achieve this, the government plans to develop integrated service centers and increase population density near mass transit stations. Dubai takes inspiration from Melbourne and Paris, which are known for their efficient urban layouts. The plan aims to enhance public transport and bring essential services closer to residents.
Addressing Housing Supply and Market Dynamics
