
Hessa Street will undergo a Dh689 million makeover under the direction of Dubai’s transportation officials in an effort to reduce traffic, shorten travel times, and improve safety on one of the busiest streets in the UAE.
In an effort to strengthen the emirate’s road infrastructure, Dubai’s leadership gave the Roads and Transport Authority the contract to supervise the building of the Hessa Street Improvement Project on Sunday.The plan will create four intersections, add 4.5km of new road, and widen Hessa Street to four lanes in each direction which include a new cycling track and pedestrian track.
The project will increase the vital road’s capacity by two times, serving a total of around 640,000 residents in residential neighborhoods. Along with two bridges for bicycles and pedestrians to cross Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Street, a 13.5-kilometer cycle route is also in the works. The Dubai Media Office and the RTA released information on the congestion-cutting plan on Sunday. The RTA stated that the work was being done in accordance with the instructions of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
